While the rest of California has increased their water use by an average of 1 percent, Santa Cruz proves that doesn’t need to be the case. In the month of June the rationing goal for water use was 8.7 million gallons of water per day (8.7 mgd). Not only did we reach that goal but we surpassed it by 400,000 gallons per day! The average daily use for June 2014 was 8.3 mgd.
